Synthesizing Geologically Coherent Cave Networks

We present a geologically-based method to generate complex karstic networks. Karsts are type of landscape formed by the dissolution highly soluble rocks (generally limestones). In particular, they characterized underground networks made varieties tunnels and breakout chambers with stalagmites stalactites. Our computes skeletons using gridless anisotropic shortest path algorithm according field data system (such as inlets outlets), geomorphological features parameters such faults, inception horizons, fractures, permeability contrasts. From this skeleton, we define geometry conduits signed distance function construction tree combining primitives blending warping operators. framework provides multiple levels control, allowing us author both structure network geometric cross-section shapes details generated conduits.
